Education and training:
Graduated with a degree in Business Administration from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudio Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM) in 1994, specializing in marketing, international finance and quality assurance. In 2008 he obtained a Master's degree in Top Management (Executive MBA) from IPADE Business School, under the MEDEX program, with a focus on corporate finance, strategic control systems and business ethics.
He has taken courses focused on the Valuation of Investment Projects at the Organization of American States (OAS), in 1996; in International Trade at the Richard Ivey School of Business at Western Ontario University in Canada, in 2008; in Innovation and Digital Strategy at IESE Business School, in 2020; and in Mergers and Acquisitions at the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM), in 2021.
Professional career:
He began his professional career in the financial and stock market sector, as an intern at Nacional Financiera (NAFIN) in 1994, to later serve, between 1995 and 1997, as a financing and investor relations analyst at Coca-Cola FEMSA (KOF), with a focus on Mexico and Argentina. In 1998, he joined the agricultural business division of the French chemical company Rhone-Poulenc Agro for Mexico and the Caribbean as a treasury and financial planning analyst.
Since 1999, he has progressively served as assistant manager of investor relations, manager of financial group relations and compliance, assistant director of anti-money laundering and anti-terrorist financing, and director of investor relations and financial compliance at Corporación Interamericana de Entretenimiento (CIE), a leading live entertainment company in Mexico and Latin America. He was also a non-member of the Audit Committee of CIE's Board of Directors, and was a member of the Issuers Committee and different working groups of the Mexican Stock Exchange.
He is a leading expert in the field of financial regulation, international business
communication, and the contracting and restructuring of bank debt and the issuance of equity and debt securities. Currently, his professional interests are directed towards sustainability and social responsibility through the improvement of corporate governance, communication with stakeholders and better environmental management (ESG).
